Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche

Early morning departure from Kathmandu. The drive offers beautiful views of the Trishuli River and lush landscapes. Arrive in Dhunche, the starting point of your trek. Dhunche is a small town with basic accommodation and facilities. Prepare for the trek, and enjoy views of the Langtang Himal.

Trek from Dhunche to Chandanbari/Sing Gompa

Start your trek with a gradual ascent through oak, pine, and rhododendron forests. Pass small villages and reach Chandanbari (also known as Sing Gompa), home to a famous monastery and a yak cheese factory. Overnight stay in a teahouse, with the opportunity to visit the monastery and taste local yak cheese.

Trek from Chandanbari to Lauribina

The trek ascends gradually but steadily today, providing stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy breathtaking vistas as you make your way to Lauribina, which is a small settlement perched on the hillside. Lauribina offers great sunset views of the mountains, and the altitude begins to feel more noticeable.

Trek from Lauribina to Gosaikunda

The trek today is short but involves a steep climb in some parts, passing several small lakes along the way.  After a few hours, you’ll reach Gosaikunda, the famous sacred lake. Gosaikunda holds great religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists. Explore the lake area and enjoy stunning views of the snow-capped peaks around it and overnight at a teahouse near the lake.

Trek from Gosaikunda to Dhunche via Sing Gompa

Enjoy your breakfast at the highest lake before heading down to Dhunche. This is on the last day of our trek on foot. Our Gosaikundatrek trails descend all the way to Sing Gompa.

We first passed Lauribanayak, with magnificent mountain views and forests. Stop lunch at Singompa and have some rest.

The trails descend through pine, silver oak, and rhododendron forests. You can also see marijuana plants across the suspension bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream.

Now, the path stretches flat. Here, there is a mountain Mineral water factory and some human settlements. Overnight at Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa district.

Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu

Today, We are driving back to Kathmandu. Get ready after your breakfast to take a local bus. There are options for private Jeeps also. We go through the road and pass through terraces, streams, and rivers. The local settlements, high hills, and along the Trishuli riverside look fantastic.

It takes about 6 to 7 hours to drive, depending on road traffic, to reach your hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening, join a farewell dinner. You can share your story and remember the memories of your Gosaikunda trek. Have some time for a stroll over the streets.
