See emerald green rice fields, lush forests rich with flora and fauna, and villages where the smiles of the Nepali people are infectious! If you’re trekking in March or early April, you’ll see bright, colourful forests of Rhododendrons native to Nepal.

We hike up to Poon Hill from Ghorepani just in time for sunrise. The spectacular view boasts some of the highest mountains in the world! Including the seventh – Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,795ft) and the tenth – Annapurna I (8,091m/26,545ft).

Day 3

Time to Trek! Drive to Ulleri and trek to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,350ft) ~6 hours walking

Take a private jeep to Ulleri, which takes about 3.5 hours. Watch the simplicity and beauty of real Nepali life go by. From our starting point marvel at Himalayan giants Annapurna South (7,219m/23,684ft) and Himchuli (6,441m/21,132ft). Then it’s time to stretch your legs the Nepali way! Get your first taste of trekking as we start easy, walking for just 90 minutes before our lunch stop in Banthati. Don’t eat too much though – we’ve still got a long way to go! During the afternoon, we gradually ascend through lush forests of rhododendrons. Trek in March and early April to see them in full bloom – an incredible sight! We’ll take a break half way at Nagathati, then stay overnight in Ghorepani. Enjoy amazing views of the seventh and tenth highest mountains: Annapurna I (8,091m/26,545ft) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,795ft).
Day 4

Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3,210m/10,532ft) for sunrise, then Poon Hill to Tadapani (2,700m/8,858ft) ~6 hours walking

The moment you’ve been waiting for! We make an early start to climb about 45 minutes to Poon Hill before sunrise. Then pick your spot, get your camera ready and watch possibly the most impressive sunrise you’ve ever seen! Tick off ten mountains over 7,000m/23,000ft – Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV and V, Gurja Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna South and Gangapurna. In awe, we return to Ghorepani for breakfast before continuing our trek. After an hour’s climb, we have a great vantage point on the other side. We then slowly descend to the far side of Banthati for lunch. Tadapani is our overnight stay and we arrive there after a steep descent, followed by a good climb through the forest.
Day 5

Tadapani to Jhinu Danda (1,760m/5,774ft) and a dip in the hot springs! ~7 hours walking

Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s all downhill from here! Ask any Nepali and they’ll tell you – what goes down in the Himalaya must go up! On day five we hike down to Chule and Kimrong Khola and then back up to Gurjung for lunch. We continue climbing for an hour and then descend once again to Chomrong, and finally reach Jhinu Danda where we spend the night. After a huge day you’ll be glad to soak in the relaxing natural hot springs before dinner!
Day 6

Jhinu Danda to jeep pick-up point (1,395m/4,577ft) ~0.5 hours walking, then drive to Pokhara

We finish with an easy hike and meet a jeep to take us back to Pokhara in time for lunch. After a great trek, it’s time to relax with a drink and a stunning Annapurna view, now much more familiar than before! Boating on Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake) is a must and we think there’s no better time than at sunset.
Day 7

Early flight to Kathmandu and a full-day sightseeing tour

We fly back to Kathmandu to meet our driver and cultural tour guide. The Kathmandu valley is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites and we’re going to visit three of them! Gaze into the ever watchful eyes of the impressive Boudhanath Stupa. Then hold on to your hat. The cheeky monkeys at Swayambhunath (monkey temple) don’t miss a trick! You’ll see plenty of them, as well as many beautiful Buddhist shrines. Finally, follow in the footsteps of royalty when you visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. It’s a feast for the eyes and ears – your tour guide will transport you back in history with his stories. Check into your hotel, then take some time for souvenir and gift shopping. In Thamel you’ll find amazing and beautiful things for an exceptional price. We’ll meet to celebrate and say farewell over dinner at a great local restaurant – your last chance to try famous Nepali dal bhat!
