A Life-Changing 8-Day Trek to Annapurna Base Camp with Nepalorama Trekking

We are a couple at 40s from Japan, who had never trekked anywhere outside of Japan, and had never trekked higher than 3000m or longer than 3 days before. However, trekking in Nepal had been my dream for years… so we finally decided to put it into action while we still can walk!
As almost beginner trekker and 1st timer to Nepal, we chose Nepalorama Trekking due to its excellent reviews on trip advisor. Indeed, our trip was not only as good as the reviews, this trip actually exceeds our expectations in so many ways… i must say that although we had travelled to quite some countries and booked quite some activities by different ways before, this is by far one of our MOST SATISFYING, MOST REWARDING trip!! It changed our world! And our coordinator ANNA and guide BIBEK GURUNG are both outstanding good!
Since our communication by emails several months before the trip, Anna had already promptly and patiently answered our every little questions… at the time we already felt that we had chosen the right company.
Our guide Bibek greeted us at our hotel since we arrived KTM. Since then he took the flight with us to Pokhara and take care everything for us. Between 2 of us, we asked for a guide & a porter to help us. Some may say it’s not necessary… but we had seen other exhausting trekkers, or trekkers with other guides missing the best slights, walking in the cold… again and again proved that we had made a correct decision.
Bibek is very informative, familiar with the places/weather and has good connections with local teahouses etc. He planned the routes smartly, always makes sures we gets the best/most spacious room in the teahouse, get to the teahouse no later than 3-4pm, so within 8 days to ABC, we were pretty much walking under the sun everyday despite it was end of Dec., and all the slights were just picture perfect! Bibek also tells us a lot about the lives of Nepaleses, mountain villagers, guides & porters… I’m very happy to not only see the places, but also feel the local people & lovely animals (buffalos, donkeys, horses, goats, chickens, dogs…) along the way. It was really eye-opening and amazing. Bibek always tries to satisfy our every wish, we are deeply touched by the warmth and friendly nature of nepalese people.
8-day ABC trek may sound tough, but i can tell you that with the right guide and porter, it is totally possible, even for beginners or older people. Without a doubt, we highly recommend Nepalorama Trekking and Bibek to anyone cares to challenge trekking in Nepal! You will not be disappointed!
P.S.
We also would like to recommend anyone trekking ABC in Winter time to bring a pair of champ-ons and warm sleeping bag. Somewhere near the top could be quite icy.
